Resurrection of the Christ Movie

Resurrection of the Christ MovieDirector Jonas McCord will helm the Resurrection of the Christ movie based on a script by Dan Gordan. The events depicted in the Resurrection of the Christ take place after Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ": we may consider it as an unofficial sequel... In Christianity the Resurrection of Jesus refers to the return to bodily life of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. It is a key element of Christian faith and theology. The cast hasn't been announced yet.

"The Resurrection of the Christ movie will focus on the power, greed and ambition of those involved in the crucifixion - Pontius Pilate, Herod, Caiaphas and Judas."

Producer Bill McKay said that the Resurrection of the Christ movie will remain faithful to biblical and historical records, but it will done so to appeal to a broad public:

"It's as much about the key players as it is about Jesus. We want to bring in the 'Gladiator' dimension of the first century against the political milieu of the time."
Producer Bill McKay

Success may well gratify his ambition since he's got a budget of $20 million. Shooting should start soon, in Israel, Morocco and Europe. The Resurrection of the Christ movie will be released in April 2011, in time for Easter, the Christian festival that celebrates the resurrection of the Christ.
